Conditioning Camp 2012
Cumberland Grads 2012 Conditioning/Prospects Camp
The Cumberland Grads Jr. A Hockey Club are bringing together talented hockey players from all across North America to compete for positions on next year's Junior A team. Players will also have a chance to meet the Grads coaching and front office staff.
Each year the Grads look to augment their roster with players from outside the area. The camp will be held at the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland (just east of Ottawa), Ontario on Saturday July 21st 9-3PM and Sunday June 22nd 9-3PM. Format for the camp will be intra-squad games between the teams. The Grads will supply jerseys, water bottles, training staff and referees. Each player must provide his own equipment, sticks, transportation to and from the rink and accommodations, while at the camp. The cost is $200.00 CAD - cheques made payable to the Cumberland Grads Jr. A Hockey Club.
The Grads are very proud of their record of player development not to mention their four Robinson Division banners in the last nine seasons. Our alumni currently play in pro leagues around the world right up to the NHL - Matt Bradley (Tampa Bay), Claude Giroux (Philadelphia) and Jonathon Matsumoto (Carolina). Alumni Jason Akeson starred with the Adirondack Phantoms last season while alumni Eric O’Dell, drafted by the Anaheim Ducks four years ago, last year played in the AHL for his first year of pro hockey. We are also very proud of alumni David Pacan who was drafted directly from our roster to the Chicago Blackhawk’s three years ago. Finally we can boast of numerous alumni currently playing and starring at the NCAA, CIS, OHL and QMJHL levels. Bottom line - we are all about the hockey - running a very strong development program to help the student athlete succeed and be noticed.
Given our deserved strong reputation for developing players for the next level, our games are heavily scouted by NCAA and CIS schools; the OHL and the QMJHL as well as numerous NHL teams and NHL Central Scouting. Scouts are present at every one of our home games. We're serious about hockey and want players that are just as committed. The Grads play home games at the Navan Memorial Centre. Our Grads facilities include a dedicated dressing room up to high Junior A standards. We also provide our roster players all equipment save for skates.
Young athletes want to be part of the Grads tradition - parents of elite athletes want their kids to be Grads. Therefore this camp will fill quickly. If you want to be part of that tradition, send your completed application ASAP to the address below.
